When your PC first arrives out of the box, and after you've used it for awhile, it is not always set up at peak performance. Sometimes you might want to polish your settings to let your machine run as soundest as it may. Coming up are a few helpful hints to help to getting your PC to perform faster and perform better.
An obvious reason for your PC to run so sickly may be because your disk drive is filled with shredded up fragmented files. Thus the foremost thing you need to perform (after being sure your computer data is backed up) is to perform CHKDSK, to repair any trash out there. Then perform your favorite disk defragmenter, whether it be a commercial one, or the one that arrived with the system. Doing that should make a big improvement alone.
Now, you want to execute your antivirus program. If you have a good program, it in all probability updates by itself, but be certain you execute a scan. Then do the aforementioned with your anti-spyware app. Some applications incorporate both, which makes it easy to execute, and easy to remember to do.
Another important thing you can perform, is to find which computer applications get executed when you boot up the computer. One way to execute that is to go to the Start tab and press Run and key in "msconfig" and press OK. Then press the Startup tab, and at that place you will find all the programs that function when your PC starts. Some of the applications that you need to disable will be obvious, but naturally you might play around with this, choosing one program at a time to disable, and restarting the PC until you get faster response for your Computer.
Another means to control the computer applications that perform in the background, is to close them manually. The easiest means to do that is to go down to your taskbar along the lowermost part of your screen, and consider all the icons that are showing up. Hopefully your antivirus program is one of those icons showing; that guy should not be kept from running. But there may be different programs, like Yahoo Messenger or an e-mail program or calendar or something. These things all consume memory, and can slow down your processing. Even though it's favourable to have many of these things, you pay in memory for the convenience by allowing your system to decelerate. Too much of these apps can cause your Machine to crash totally.
There are several great applications on the market that can help you to accelerate your PC. Some of them have demos that can be downloaded, and they can give you the types of features they have that can help you. Look over a couple of them, see which apps are easiest for you to do, and purchase one. Naturally make sure you can receive a refund if you don't like it.
Hopefully the pointers above can help you speed up your machine, and make your PC experience always a happy one.
